Basic Green Smoothie

I've been drinking 40 oz. a day and it feels amazing! This recipe is based of Dr. Brooke Goldner's protocol. If you suffer from any autoimmune disease or chronic pain, I highly recommend checking her out. She is healing people with grocery store food. However, this recipe is designed for everyone regardless of your current health status. It's such a quick and easy way to get your greens in which I know a lot of us struggle with, me included!
Every member of our family starts of their day with a green smoothie for optimal health!

INGREDIENTS:
-greens (spinach, kale, swiss chard, etc.)
-sweet fruit to balance greens (think banana, mango, etc)
-1/4 - 1/2 cup omega 3s (flax* or chia seeds)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Pack blender full of 75% greens and 25% fruit. Top with omega 3s.
2. Add water to the level of the greens.
3. Blend until smooth in a high-powered blender.
*Flax seeds should be purchased whole and ground prior to consuming since the omega 3s are volatile. I used a coffee grinder and it works perfectly. Or, if you have a super strong blender like a Vitamix or BlendTec, no prior grinding is necessary.
