Black bean burgers are my go-to recipe when I'm having meat-eating company over. They are so flavorful, filling and usually something most everyone will enjoy.
We like our food with a lot of flavor and could not eat plant-based without our arsenal of sauces, spreads, herbs, spices, etc. Tonight's black bean burger seasoned with Montreal Steak Seasoning. I think the key to a good black bean burger is using the same spices and toppings you like on red meat burger. It's that simple!
Sides: Oven roasted french fries with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt and vegan coleslaw.
YUM. Satisfying. Filling. Comfort food!

A muscle-y man pleasing meal!

Simple Black Bean & Quinoa Burgers
(Makes 6 patties)
INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 cup rolled oats -1 tsp cumin -1\2 - 1 TBSP Montreal Steak seasoning (or whatever you like in your burgers!)
-2 cups black beans
-1 cup quinoa OR rice (I've had success with both!)
-pack of 6 whole grain burger buns
Topping options: avocado/guacamole, salsa, greens, onion, cilantro, mustard, hot sauce, jalepenos.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Put the oats, cumin and steak seasoning in a food processor and grind to a powder.
2. Add black beans and quinoa/rice
3. Form burgers using 1/2 cup measuring cup.
4. Cook immediately because the patties can dry out and become crumbly. I cook on my panini press for 8 mins at 400°. Could be cooked in the stove (flipping to sear both sides).
